Zoster is a viral infection that causes a painful rash. It sometimes last for 1 week or ten day, but others may suffer for more than months.
Zoster also call as Shingles is caused by the varicella-zoster virus, the same virus that causes chickenpox. After you've had chickenpox, the virus lies dormant in your nerves. The virus may reactivate as shingles during your low immune system.
Zoster Symptoms
Zoster is a disease that usually can be suffered by children and young people. People with zoster disease will experience symptoms as follows:
Often feels tingling pain or burning, or sometimes numbness, under or in the skins.
Feels ill with fever, chills, an upset in the stomach, and headache.
After 2-3 days the pain begun, a typical rash will appear that is small blisters on red, swollen skin.
Feel sensitives to light.
It is possible if you feel dizzy or weak.
Long-term pain or a rash on your face.
Changes in visions.
Changes in how well you can think.
The rash are spreading.
Zoster Causes
There is only one cause that lead to zoster disease. The cause is a reinfection with the varicella-zoster virus. This is the similar virus that causing chickenpox. About over 90% of nonimmune person will develop chickenpox when being expose to it. It is highly contagious. Zoster can spread by direct skin-to-skin contact, sneezing, and coughing from infected person. So, you need to highly protect yourself when connecting with them.
