Studies have shown that children with autism tends to get constipation more often than normal children. This is because autism children have weak bladder and bowel system. Moreover, autism children have allergic to many types of food.
To overcome this problem, parents should improve the eating habits of your autism child and encourage them to change any habits that lead to constipation.
For example, parents need to put more fiber in their autism child’s diet such as fruits, vegetables, whole wheat bread and cereals which they eat. Even if you tried to gluten-free and casein-free diet, you should choose foods that are rich in fiber. But keep in mind also, parents cannot provide too large amount of fiber in the food as this can cause bloating and gas.
In addition to providing high-fiber foods, parents should seek treatment for their autism children.
