Menopause is a natural stage of life. For some women the symptoms are mild, and for others they affect sleep, mood and daily comfort.
Symptoms women describe
- Hot flushes and night sweats
- Mood swings and irritability
- Disrupted sleep
What we offer
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese approach in which fine needles are placed at points on the body with the aim of restoring balance. We also prepare Chinese herbal formulas for each woman. Regular sessions are usually suggested, and we will discuss a plan with you at your consultation.
How you manage menopause is your choice, together with your doctor. Please tell us about any hormone therapy or other medicines you take.
How we work
At The Tole, treatment combines neuro acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. The Master’s team reviews your history and any medical reports, then recommends acupuncture, herbal preparations, or both. Herbs are prepared for the individual, using natural herbs and the family’s ancestral formulas.
You can walk in during opening hours without an appointment. If you live far away, email your medical reports and we will advise you on herbs and, where suitable, an intensive course of acupuncture. Herbs can be couriered to any country, usually in 3 to 5 working days. See herbs by post.
See a doctor first if
- Any bleeding after your periods have stopped for a year
- Very heavy or unusually frequent bleeding
- Chest pain, or a racing or irregular heartbeat
- Low mood that does not lift, or feeling hopeless
Traditional Chinese medicine is offered as a complement to, not a replacement for, medical care. We do not promise a cure or a particular result, and responses vary from person to person. Please keep your doctor informed about any herbs or treatments you use.
